May is National Bike Month, and RIDE Solutions has organized a wide variety of events that will allow folks from all backgrounds, skill levels, and interests to celebrate. Some of the events that have been planned for the month include:
Clean Commute Challenge: Accept the challenge to walk, bike, carpool, telecommute, or take public transportation this May with the annual Clean Commute Challenge. Explore your transportation options and earn entries to win great prizes, all while reducing your transportation costs, improving regional air quality, and spending more time doing the things you enjoy.
Bike Shorts Film Festival: The 5th Annual Bike Shorts Film Festival will premiere at the Grandin Theatre on Friday, May 1st, at 6:00 pm. $1,300 in prizes are up for grabs in the Juried Prize, Best Local Film, Best Music Video, and Audience Favorite categories. Come out to see works by talented local filmmakers and international submissions. Featuring films from Roanoke, Lynchburg, Pulaski, Vancouver, Israel, Korea, and more!
Night Rider’s Ball: Join RIDE Solutions and Martin’s in downtown Roanoke as we host the Pimps of Joytime on Friday, May 23rd. As always, for the Night Rider’s Ball, your bike is your ticket! Get in free by riding to the show and using our complimentary bike valet, or take the Clean Commute Challenge online.
