Emergency Ride Home

A program that provides a safety net

RIDE Solutions Emergency Ride Home (ERH) benefit covers members who commute to work by transit, rideshare (vanpool or carpool), bike, or walk. If you face an unforeseen work or family emergency RIDE Solutions will reimburse the cost of your trip home. Members are eligible for up to six (6) rides in each twelve (12) month period, starting on the date the member joined and set up their account.  The maximum number of rides an eligible member may use in one calendar month is two (2).

Terms and Conditions

To qualify for reimbursement you must:

  • Be a RIDE Solutions member via the ConnectingVA App.
  • The account member must have used and logged an alternative mode trip (carpool, vanpool, transit, bike) to travel to work for the day you are requesting the reimbursement.
  • Rides are provided only from the member’s work location to the member’s home or where the vehicle is parked (e.g., park-and-ride lot)
  • The member must have a work location (must be an official employer location, not a home or public Wi-Fi location) in the RIDE Solutions service area.
  • Fill out the Emergency Ride Home Reimbursement Request form and provide all requested documentation.
