RIDE Solutions and I Heart SE had a blast gathering with 18 neighbors of all ages for Try Transit Southeast! Bus riders experienced Southeast and downtown Roanoke from a new perspective and left feeling more confident getting around by bus!
Playing Bus BINGO together kept us engaged. The game featured sights and landmarks on the ride from 9th St near Riverdale to the 3rd Street Transit Station in downtown Roanoke. At the event, we demonstrated hands-on how to use the VMGO app and Google Maps to look up bus routes and times.
We hope everyone left feeling more knowledgeable about to use Valley Metro’s transit system. Kudos to Roanoke Valley Metro bus driver on the 42 and 41 routes for accommodating our large group and providing a smooth ride to and from the Transit Station!
Try Transit Southeast is an event during Try Transit Week 9/15 – 9/19 aimed to introduce community members to public transportation.
