RIDE Solutions, the Roanoke Valley Preservation Foundation, and the Vinton History Museum were pleased to host the 5th Annual Tweed Ride this past Saturday in Vinton, VA. About 20 folks joined us on the 8 mile trip that explored some historic sites in and around downtown Vinton before departing for a winding tour of the Wolf Creek Greenway.
At the greenway’s end, riders gathered at the historic Barfield House and Gross Farm on Mountain View Road for molasses cookies and cider, and then finished the ride with a brief stop at the Vinton War Memorial before wrapping up at Twin Creeks Brewing.
The annual Tweed Ride always takes place the second Saturday in November, and each year moves to a new part of the Roanoke Valley. If you have not joined us before, be sure to get us on your calendar early and start shopping for your tweed!
