West County to Downtown

Starting at the Colonade Corporate Park, this route take you on neighborhood streets and along the Garst Mill Greenway into the Grandin Road area. Traveling through Grandin Village and along Memorial Avenue, you’ll come into downtown on Salem Avenue and end at the Transportation Museum.


Start at: Colonade Corporate Center parking lot

0.4 mi – Turn right onto McVitty Rd.

0.7 mi – Turn right onto Cresthill Dr.

0.5 mi – Turn left onto Garst Mill Greenway

0.1 mi – Turn right onto Halevan Rd. from Garst Mill Greenway.

0.1 mi – Turn right onto Garst Mill Rd. This can be a high-traffic corridor so consider walking your bike.

0.2 mi – Turn left onto Willetta Dr.

0.4 mi – Bear right onto Fleetwood Ave.

0.1 mi – Turn right onto Red Rock. Valley Metro stops at the BP station here; you may put your bike on the bus and ride the rest of the way in.

0.4 mi – Turn left Brambleton Ave. Use paved shoulders when possible, though watch for cars parked on-street.

0.3 mi – Turn left onto Spring Rd.

0.3 mi – Turn right onto Livingston Rd.

0.1 mi – Turn left onto Guilford Ave.

0.3 mi – Turn right onto Lofton Rd. to Patrick Henry High School parking lot

0.1 mi – Turn left at entrance to Patrick Henry High School

0.8 mi – Turn right onto Grandin Rd.

0.6 mi – Turn right onto Memorial Ave. Use bike lanes

0.2 mi – Follow Memorial Ave. as it becomes 13th St.

1.0 mi – Turn right onto Campbell Ave.

0.0 mi – Turn left onto 4th St.

End at: Virginia Museum of Transportation.
